Telemarketing Software: Taking Twitter to Market

Social media is all the buzz lately, especially with businesses hoping to leverage the explosion of resources available through social networking, and the world of telemarketing and lead management software is no exception.

VanillaSoft’s Ken Murray (News - Alert), a thought leader in the world of CRM and marketing innovation, recently issued some thoughts about the use of Twitter for marketing and customer strategy purposes in a helpful blog post. He noted that VanillaSoft, a leading provider of telemarketing software and lead management software, has “over 13,000 followers, and Twitter has become a major source of our traffic. In fact, as you read this post, there is a very good chance you connected to it through a tweet by us or a re-tweet by a follower.”

With statistics such as those, it only makes sense to leverage the enormous customer and interest base stemming from a forum such as Twitter. Murray offers some helpful tips including:

  • Avoid tweeting for the sake of tweeting (no one likes an aimless twit!)
  • Be a content creator (remember, content is still king)
  • Make it part of your daily efforts
  • Always keep in mind your branding while tweeting – they are closely linked
  • A regular blog helps to contribute to your Twitter account

Your Twitter account can easily become an extension of your website, blog and brand with consistent work and daily activity.

Murray noted, “Twitter has allowed us to build great online relationships with key bloggers and players in the space we serve. Those relationships often grow from us re-tweeting their content, doing Friday Follows, and posting their blog to our readers. Like the name indicates, it truly is ‘social media.’ Put the effort in to meaningfully connect with others, and they will connect with you.”
