VanillaSoft at the Vanguard of Support for Women Entrepreneurs in the Third World

VanillaSoft, a provider of telemarketing software and solutions, is celebrating Women’s History Month by introducing a micro lending initiative focusing on female owned businesses in the third world.

As part of this initiative, the company will make one micro loan per day during the entire March to support women business owners around the world. The loans are offered through Kiva micro lending platform, company officials said.

Ken Murray (News - Alert), president of VanillaSoft, said, "When we started our company, we got funding early on through friends, angels and eventually through traditional banks and VCs. Opportunity for funding in the developing world is extremely limited or simply not available. This is not only an opportunity to make a loan to a fellow business owner; it is absolutely the right thing to do."


The company plans to expose as many people as possible to micro lending. In 2012, VanillaSoft hopes to do more than 400 micro loans. The company will continue to match any loan of $25 to $100 made to Kiva prior to the end of the year and up to a total of $10,000 in new loans.

Interested lenders can visit the Web site http://www.kiva.org/team/VanillaSoft and pick the entrepreneur whom they wish to fund, and then notify VanillaSoft at supportkiva(at)vanillasoft(dot)com. VanillaSoft will match the loan to the selected entrepreneur.

If the selected entrepreneur is fully funded, VanillaSoft will make a loan of equal value to another one. All repaid loans go directly back to the original lender, the company said.

Earlier this year, VanillaSoft announced it will continue its sponsorship of the Sales Lead Management Association (SLMA). VanillaSoft has sponsored important SLMA events and recognitions in the past such as the "SLMA 20 Women to Watch."

Created by SLMA, the 20 Women to Watch is an international recognition program. The program’s goal is to honor the innovative, resourceful women, who have made outstanding contributions to the vital discipline of sales leads management.

Meanwhile Atlanta-based prospect development company, PointClear announced it is sponsoring the second Annual 20 Women to Watch Contest.
