VanillaSoft: A Look Back at This Year in Telemarketing Software
By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor
Traveling to Times Square on Christmas Day, I couldn’t help but notice the hundreds of barricades already erected throughout the area in preparation for New Year’s Eve, a night in which nearly one million people pack in like tiny sardines to get up close and personal with the glistening ball that is dropped once the clock strikes 12 on January 1. As 2012 comes to a close, no matter how much you protest it, companies throughout the globe took significant strides toward expanding their footprint, including telemarketing software provider VanillaSoft.
Based in Texas, VanillaSoft enables customers to gain access to an unparalleled level of flexibility and functionality that will enable them to create their telemarketing campaigns from the ground up in order to meet their individual needs. Complete with unlimited custom fields, Web lead import features and appointment setting modules, the software can translate prospective leads into closed sales at a very high rate.
Kicking off this year, the company revealed that it had chosen Jackson Marketing Services to power its online marketing and awareness initiatives. The marketing specialist will now be solely responsible for ramping up its social media programs that will closely align with VanillaSoft's solid sales and marketing plan.
“It's an exciting opportunity to work with a recognized leader like VanillaSoft. In addition to being a force in the CRM and lead management space, VanillaSoft differentiates itself through its partnership with Kiva, a non-profit organization that connects people through micro loan lending to alleviate poverty. It's a privilege to support a client that embraces excellence and compassion in its day-to-day operations," Stacy Jackson, partner, Jackson Marketing Services, commented at the time of the newly inked partnership.
February then kicked off with the news that the telemarketing software provider would be sponsoring the Sales Lead Management Association (SLMA). This organization is touted as offering important resources and tools to its members free of charge and serves as a go-to destination for companies seeking news, tips, training and humorous anecdotes that relate to sales lead management.
In March, VanillaSoft rejoiced in Women’s History Month via its micro lending program which has been developed to assist female owned businesses in the third world. In fact, according to company officials it made one micro loan per day throughout the month to women business owners around the world.
Ken Murray (News - Alert), president of VanillaSoft, added, "I can’t think of a better way to recognize women’s history month than to be a small part of helping women business owners make their own history."
Also during that time period, headlines were made when the Texas-based firm unveiled its app on Salesforce.com (News - Alert) that will allow users to move leads back and fourth seamlessly between both Salesforce.com and the VanillaSoft platform.
The ill effects from April showers were ultimately thwarted with the news that the company had revamped its appointment setting software. The new functions are ideal for companies looking to set appointments from within their own in-house sales teams, outside sales teams or even professional service bureaus in need of a product that could efficiently create appointments for clients.
As summer began in June, VanillaSoft turned up the heat with the upgrade of its CRM platform that can now be synced with Google (News - Alert) Calendars. Murray commented in regard to the release, "More and more organizations are taking advantage of Google's robust calendaring. Providing a seamless synch will only enhance the VanillaSoft offering."
As the cooler weather rolled in and September arrived, the telemarketing software expert shook up its team and appointed Kevin Thornton as executive vice president, Sales and Marketing. Thornton will be responsible for driving both customer and revenue growth as well as will be involved in all aspects of new customer engagement and acquisition strategies.
And in October, we saw VanillaSoft join hands with LifeBoat. This strategic alliance will benefit both organizations, helping to expand VanilaSoft’s footprint while also giving Lifeboat employees access to the telemarketing software provider’s wide network of resellers. In addition, the business revealed it would be sponsoring the Inside Sales Expo 2012 which took place in San Francisco, Calif. on November 5, 2012.
"As a lead management software provider to the Inside Sales community, VanillaSoft is pleased to be a sponsor of Inside Sales Expo 2012. Rapidly improving communication technology and shrinking travel budgets mean many organizations are shifting more activities to inside sales teams. We are excited to support the evolution of inside sales and the career development of its professionals through support of organizations like AA-ISP. I look forward to attending the November 5th event and exhibiting at the Inside Sales Expo vendor fair,” Thornton concluded.
That was just some of the exciting events that took place during VanillaSoft’s year. Be sure to stay tuned to TMCnet to see what exciting opportunities spike up in 2013!
